THE GOSPEL OF THE STARS
When the sun withdraws its glory and the world is wrapped in darkness, the stars begin their silent ministry. They do not banish the night, yet they faithfully remind us that heaven has not disappeared.
Thus God often comforts His children. He does not always remove the darkness at once, but He scatters enough promises across the sky of His word to assure us that He is still upon His throne.
“He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name” (Psalms 147:4). If He knows every star, He has certainly not forgotten one of His redeemed.
The stars shine most brightly when the night is deepest. So too, the graces of faith, hope, and patience often sparkle most beautifully in seasons of affliction.
Many a believer has learned more of Christ beneath a clouded sky than beneath a cloudless one. The furnace has revealed treasures that comfort never uncovered.
The God who hung those distant lights in the heavens also kindles holy light within the hearts of His people, that they might “shine as lights in the world” (Philippians 2:15).
Therefore, do not despise the night. Lift your eyes above the shadows and behold the countless testimonies of God’s faithfulness.
Every star declares that the hand which guides the vast heavens is steady enough to guide your life.
The night will not endure forever. Soon the Morning Star shall appear, and the everlasting day will dawn.
Until then, let every star remind you that even in your darkest hour, heaven is filled with light (Revelation 22:16).
