THE GOSPEL OF THE RAIN CLOUD

The rain cloud is often feared because it hides the sun, yet it is the very messenger that carries refreshment to a thirsty earth.

So it is with the providence of God.

We rejoice in bright days, but the Lord frequently sends His richest mercies wrapped in dark garments. The cloud that obscures your sight may be the vessel that bears your blessing.

“He makes the clouds His chariot” (Psalms 104:3), and He has never once lost His way.

The believer must learn not merely to endure the cloud, but to welcome it.

The deepest roots are not nourished by sunshine alone. It is the gentle rain that softens the hardened ground and prepares it for fruitfulness.

Trials moisten the dry places of the heart, teaching us to depend less upon ourselves and more upon the unfailing grace of Christ.

“For whom the Lord loves He chastens” (Hebrews 12:6), and every shower from His hand has a purpose wiser than we can presently understand.

When next you see the heavens clothed in gray, remember that the cloud is not your enemy. It has borrowed its darkness only that it might spend itself in blessing.

Soon the rain will cease, the sky will clear, and the fields will rejoice because the cloud came.

So too, every sorrow appointed by our heavenly Father shall leave behind a richer harvest of faith, hope, and holiness. “Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy” (Psalms 126:5).
