THE GOSPEL OF THE SUNRISE
Every sunrise is a sermon preached without a human voice. Before the birds lift their songs and before the earth awakens to its labor, the heavens declare that God’s mercies have not been exhausted.
The darkness has spent its strength, yet the light returns with unfailing faithfulness.
So the believer may look upon the eastern sky and remember, “His compassions fail not. They are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22-23).
The dawn is God’s daily promise that His covenant stands though the night has been long.
How often the soul resembles the midnight sky, clouded with fear, regret, and sorrow. Yet Christ, the Sun of Righteousness, does not merely brighten the darkness. He drives it away by His glorious presence (Malachi 4:2).
The same Savior who rolled away the stone from His own tomb can roll away the shadows that linger over the trusting heart. No night has ever defeated the morning, and no sorrow can forever withstand the light of the risen Redeemer.
Therefore, greet the sunrise as one who expects grace. Let its golden beams remind you that heaven has not forgotten your name, nor has the throne of God grown weary of hearing your prayers.
Walk into the day with your face toward Christ, and though clouds may gather before evening, you have already witnessed the pledge that light is stronger than darkness, life is stronger than death, and God’s faithfulness shines brighter than the morning sun (John 8:12; James 1:17; Psalms 30:5).
