CHRIST WALKS AMONG HIS CHURCH

When Christ speaks to the church at Ephesus, He introduces Himself as the One who holds the seven stars in His right hand and walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands (Revelation 2:1). This is a powerful picture of His relationship with His people.

Christ is not a distant Savior who watches His church from far away. He is present among His people. He knows what is happening in His church, He sees what others cannot see, and He understands the true spiritual condition of those who belong to Him.

The stars remind us that Christ is sovereign over His messengers, while the lampstands represent the churches themselves. He holds His servants securely, and He walks among His churches personally.

Their faithfulness does not escape His notice, and neither do their failures. Every sacrifice, every act of service, every struggle, and every hidden sin is before His eyes.

This should both comfort us and challenge us. We can be encouraged because Christ sees our faithfulness even when others do not. But we should also be humbled because we cannot hide our hearts from Him. He examines His church with perfect knowledge and righteous judgment.

Therefore, let us serve Him faithfully, worship Him sincerely, and remember that wherever His people gather, Christ is in their midst.
