Life is lived one day at a time. Each morning brings new thoughts, new responsibilities, and new opportunities to walk with Christ. The word of God shows us how to live in the world without losing sight of the One who gives our lives meaning. We must learn to think with the mind of Christ, work faithfully through the daily grind, and recognize the spiritual blindness that keeps us from seeing what matters most. We are not just seeking to get through another day. We are walking with Christ every day.
THE DAILY MIND
Our thoughts shape the direction of our lives. “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5). We must learn to think beyond ourselves, beyond our circumstances, and beyond the temporary things of this world. We are called to set our minds on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God (Colossians 3:1-2). The daily mind is a mind renewed by the truth of God’s word (Romans 12:2). Each day, we must ask ourselves whether our thoughts are leading us closer to Christ or drawing us away from Him.
THE DAILY GRIND
Life includes work, responsibilities, disappointments, and burdens that do not disappear simply because we believe in Jesus. Still, Christ meets us in the ordinary duties of life. “And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men” (Colossians 3:23). Even the smallest task can become an act of faithfulness when it is done for Him. We must not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart (Galatians 6:9). The daily grind becomes meaningful when we live each day in the service of Christ.
THE DAILY BLIND
One of the greatest dangers in life is failing to see what is right before us. Sin can blind our hearts, pride can distort our judgment, and the cares of this world can keep us from recognizing the things that truly matter. Jesus said, “Having eyes, do you not see?” (Mark 8:18). We must ask God to open our eyes to His truth, our own spiritual needs, and the opportunities we have to love others. The psalmist prayed, “Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law” (Psalm 119:18). We must not allow the routine of daily life to blind us to the presence and purpose of God.
The daily mind must be fixed on Christ. The daily grind must be lived for Christ. And the daily blind must be awakened by the light of Christ. Today is another opportunity to walk with Him.
