#258 POSTMARKED HEAVEN 10-9-26
Every letter has a destination, and every life is headed somewhere. We spend our days sending messages, making plans, and preparing for the future, but have we made preparation for eternity? There is no address more important than heaven, and no destination more precious than being with Jesus Christ.
“For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Philippians 3:20). The Christian's true home is not found on a map. It is found in the promise of God. This world is temporary, but the home Jesus promised His disciples is eternal. He said, “I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2).
We cannot purchase our way into heaven, earn our way there through good deeds, or depend upon the goodness of our own hearts. Salvation is God's gift through Jesus Christ. His death paid the price for our sins, His resurrection secured our hope, and His gospel tells us how to respond to His grace.
Heaven is not merely a comforting thought for the final chapter of life. It is a promise that shapes how we live today. We forgive because we have received mercy. We serve because Christ first loved us. We endure because our labor in the Lord is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58).
Imagine arriving at the end of life's journey and knowing that, through the grace of God, your eternal home is with the Lord. No earthly postmark could ever compare with that glorious destination.
Live today with eternity in view. Through Jesus Christ, heaven is not merely a place to dream about. It is a promise to prepare for.

Heavenly Father, thank You for the hope of heaven through Jesus Christ. Help us live faithfully, love generously, and keep our hearts fixed on our eternal home. May we share the gospel with others so they, too, may know the joy of being with You forever. In Jesus' name, Amen.
