#253 CHRIST IS ENOUGH 10-8-26
There is completeness about Jesus Christ. He does not need our additions, our improvements, or our attempts to make Him greater than He already is. He is enough. When we have Christ, we have the One through whom all things were created, the One who came to redeem us, and the One who will never leave His people.
“For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him” (Colossians 2:9-10). Our world is constantly telling us that we need something else to be happy, secure, or fulfilled. Christ tells us that true fullness is found in Him.
CHRIST IS OUR CREATOR
John begins his Gospel by taking us back beyond Bethlehem: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God” (John 1:1). Then he tells us, “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made” (John 1:3).
Jesus did not begin to exist when He was born in Bethlehem. He existed before the world began. He was with the Father in glory, and through Him the universe was brought into being. The same Christ who entered human history is eternal, divine, and sovereign over everything He made.
Jesus is not merely part of the story of creation. He is the Creator.
CHRIST IS OUR REDEEMER
The Creator entered His creation. That is the wonder of the incarnation. “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us” (John 1:14).
Jesus came into a world that had been ruined by sin, yet He did not turn away from us. He lived among sinners without becoming a sinner. He was tempted, yet without sin (Hebrews 4:15). He was rejected, mocked, beaten, crucified, and buried. But the grave could not hold Him.
Peter declared, “Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold but with the precious blood of Christ” (1 Peter 1:18-19).
Our salvation is not built upon our goodness. It rests upon His grace and His sacrifice.
CHRIST IS OUR REWARD
Sometimes we think the Christian life is primarily about what we receive from Christ. But the greatest gift is Christ Himself. “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:21).
Heaven is wonderful because there will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain (Revelation 21:4). But the greatest joy of heaven is that we will be with Him.
Jesus promised His disciples, “I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3).
Christ is our Creator. Christ is our Redeemer. Christ is our Reward.
So when life is confusing, look to Christ. When temptation is strong, look to Christ. When sorrow comes, look to Christ. When death approaches, look to Christ.
He is not merely the answer to one problem. Christ is enough for everything.

Lord Jesus, help us to see You for who You truly are. You are our Creator, our Redeemer, and our eternal Reward. When we are discouraged, turn our eyes toward You. When we are tempted, strengthen us through Your word. When we are afraid, remind us that You are with us. Teach us to be satisfied in You and to live every day knowing that Christ is enough. Amen.
