THE GOSPEL OF MERCY

Mercy is not a thin sentiment floating above the throne of God, but the very river that flows from it. It is the divine inclination toward the miserable, the undeserving, and the broken.

The Bible does not present mercy as reluctant or hesitant, but as active and overflowing. “The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and great in mercy” (Psalms 145:8).

If justice measures what we deserve, mercy gives what we could never earn. And every awakened soul soon learns that it survives only by this holy kindness.

Often the heart argues with itself, remembering failure after failure, and wondering if grace has finally reached its limit. Yet mercy does not grow weary as man grows weary. It does not diminish with repetition, nor weaken with time.

The cross of Christ stands as the everlasting proof that mercy has already answered our deepest need before we even knew how to ask. “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). The blood that was shed is not a temporary covering but a perpetual fountain.

Therefore, come boldly, not because you are strong, but because mercy is strong. Do not wait until your sorrow is perfected or your repentance feels sufficient. The very weakness that disqualifies you in your own eyes is the thing that qualifies you for His compassion.

Let the soul that has nothing learn that mercy gives everything. And when you have received it, walk gently in the world, for the one who has been forgiven much must love much (Luke 7:47). Thus mercy received becomes mercy reflected, until the life itself becomes a testimony that His kindness endures forever.
