THE DIVINE PURPOSE
Nothing in the hand of God is without design, and nothing in the life of the believer is without appointment. What appears to be scattered fragments to the eye of man is, in the counsel of heaven, a single unfolding purpose.
“The Lord has made all for Himself, yes, even the wicked for the day of doom” (Proverbs 16:4). If His wisdom governs even the smallest detail of creation, then no tear, no delay, and no trial in the life of His redeemed is wasted or forgotten.
We often judge purpose by immediate outcome, but God reveals purpose by eternal outcome. The potter does not explain every turn of the wheel to the clay while shaping it.
So the Lord leads His people through paths they do not yet understand, not because He is absent, but because He is forming something deeper than comfort and stronger than ease.
“We know that all things work together for good to those who love God” (Romans 8:28). The good in view is not always present pleasure, but present transformation into the likeness of Christ.
The divine purpose is ultimately Christ Himself. Every calling, every correction, every open door and closed one is moving the soul toward conformity with the Son.
The Father is not merely improving circumstances; He is conforming sons and daughters. “For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son” (Romans 8:29).
When this is seen, even the darkest providence becomes a servant of light, laboring toward a glory that cannot be shaken.
Therefore, trust the purpose you cannot yet read. The hand that seems to withhold is the same hand that has already secured the end from the beginning.
What God has designed cannot be frustrated by delay or overturned by opposition. And when the work is complete and the veil is lifted, it will be seen that every step was ordered, every wound was governed, and every mercy was intentional.
Then the believer will not merely believe in divine purpose but will behold it in full clarity, and worship will be the only fitting response.
