#329 NIGHT CREEPER 10-24-26

Night has a way of changing how we see the world. Familiar places become strange, quiet moments become unsettling, and shadows seem to hold secrets. But the spiritual dangers of life often approach just as quietly. Temptation does not always announce itself, and deception rarely introduces itself as an enemy. We must learn to recognize what threatens our souls.

THE SHADOWS

Sin often begins in the shadows, where we believe nobody can see. But darkness never conceals anything from God. Psalm 139:12 says that even darkness is not dark to Him. Jesus declared that those who practice evil hate the light because their deeds may be exposed (John 3:19-21). The safest life is not one that hides its failures but one that brings everything into the light of God's truth.

THE SIREN

In ancient mythology, sirens lured sailors toward destruction with beautiful songs. Temptation works much the same way. What attracts us may eventually enslave us. Proverbs 14:12 warns that a way may seem right to a person, yet lead to death. The devil does not need to make evil look ugly if he can make it look desirable. We must measure our desires by God's word rather than measure God's word by our desires.

THE SONG

There is another voice worth hearing. Jesus said, “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27). The world sings its songs of pleasure, pride, and self-gratification, but Christ calls us toward truth, holiness, and everlasting life. We must learn which voice deserves our allegiance.

Night creepers thrive in darkness, but those who walk with Christ need not fear the shadows. His truth exposes deception, His wisdom guides our steps, and His love calls us home.

________________

Father, protect us from hidden dangers, deceptive desires, and voices that lead us away from You. Help us hear the voice of Jesus and walk faithfully in His light. Amen.
