#325 PARTICIPATING IN THE POSSIBILITIES 19-23-26

Life is a teacher, but we must be willing to learn. Every day brings experiences that can teach us something about ourselves, about others, and about God. Some lessons come through success, while others come through disappointment. Some are learned through our own mistakes, while others are learned by watching the lives of those around us. The important thing is that we do not simply go through life without growing in wisdom.

“Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Psalm 90:12). Our days are limited, and we should use them wisely. We must not allow yesterday’s mistakes to rob us of today’s opportunities. “For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again” (Proverbs 24:16). Failure does not have to be the end of our story if we are willing to learn and continue moving forward.

We must also learn from the experiences of others. “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who heeds counsel is wise” (Proverbs 12:15). We do not know everything, and we need the wisdom that comes from listening to others and learning from their experiences. God’s word provides the foundation for understanding life and making wise decisions. “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105).

James tells us to ask God for wisdom, promising that He gives generously to those who ask (James 1:5). We should never become so confident in our own understanding that we stop learning.

Life moves quickly, and we cannot go back and change yesterday. But we can learn from it. We can grow through our experiences, correct our mistakes, and become wiser in our decisions. Do not merely count the years you have lived. Make the years count by learning from life and walking faithfully with God.
