#308 WITNESS 10-20-26

Every Christian has a story to tell and a Savior to proclaim. We are surrounded by people who need to know that God loves them, that Christ died for them, and that forgiveness and eternal life are offered through Him. Our witness is not merely an occasional conversation about religion. It is the daily opportunity to make Jesus known through our words, our conduct, and our compassion.

WITNESS WITH YOUR WORDS

Jesus told His disciples, “You shall be witnesses to Me” (Acts 1:8). The gospel is too precious to keep to ourselves. We must be willing to speak about Jesus, share the good news of His death and resurrection, and invite others to believe in Him. Paul asked, “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard?” (Romans 10:14). Someone may be waiting to hear the very message we have been hesitant to share.

WITNESS WITH YOUR WALK

Our conduct should support our confession. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). Kindness, honesty, patience, and forgiveness can open doors for conversations about Christ. We cannot live perfectly, but we can live sincerely, demonstrating the transforming power of God’s grace. Our lives should never contradict the message our lips proclaim.

WITNESS WITH YOUR WORKS

Love gives credibility to our testimony when it moves us to serve others. A visit to the lonely, a meal for the hungry, a word of encouragement to the discouraged, or a helping hand to a struggling neighbor can demonstrate the compassion of Jesus. 1 Peter 3:15 teaches us to be ready to give an answer for the hope within us. Our service may create an opportunity to explain that hope.

Our purpose is to point people to Jesus Christ. You do not have to stand behind a pulpit to be a witness. Wherever God places you today, let your words proclaim Christ, your walk reflect Christ, and your works demonstrate Christ. Someone needs to see Him through you.

Heavenly Father, help us to be faithful witnesses for Jesus through our words, our conduct, and our acts of love. Give us courage to share the gospel, wisdom to recognize opportunities, and compassion for those who need Your grace. May our lives shine with the light of Christ and lead others to know His saving love, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
