#220 CHRIST THE LORD OVER ALL 10-1-26
Christ is not Lord of a corner of our lives. He is Lord of all. The angels announced His birth with these words: “For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11). From Bethlehem’s manger to Calvary’s cross and the empty tomb, the message remains the same: Jesus Christ is Lord.
LORD OF CREATION
Jesus is Lord because everything belongs to Him. “All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made” (John 1:3). Paul declares that “all things were created through Him and for Him” (Colossians 1:16). The stars belong to Him. The seas belong to Him. The earth belongs to Him. And we belong to Him. Creation itself points toward the authority of Christ.
LORD OF OUR LIVES
Christ is not merely Lord of the universe. He desires to be Lord of our hearts. “For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself” (Romans 14:7), and then declared, “For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living” (Romans 14:9). His lordship reaches into our choices, our relationships, our words, our priorities, and our daily walk.
LORD OF ETERNITY
One day every earthly authority will disappear, but Christ will remain. Philippians 2:10-11 declares that “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow” and “every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” Revelation presents Him as “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS” (Revelation 19:16).
The question is not whether Jesus is Lord. He is. The question is whether we will willingly acknowledge what heaven, earth, history, and eternity all proclaim.
Christ is Lord of creation, Lord of our lives, and Lord of eternity. Therefore, let us give Him not merely a portion of ourselves, but everything. He is worthy of our worship, our obedience, our trust, and our love.
_______________
Father, help us to recognize Jesus Christ as Lord of creation, Lord of our lives, and Lord of eternity. Teach us to surrender every part of ourselves to Him with faith, obedience, and love. May our lives continually confess what heaven and earth declare: Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Amen.
