#212 THE LORD IS NOT SLACK CONCERNING HIS PROMISE 9-30-26

Sometimes God seems slow because we measure time with a human clock. We pray, we wait, we wonder, and eventually we ask, “Lord, how long?” But God has never been late. He has never forgotten His word. He has never made a promise He could not keep.

“The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us” (2 Peter 3:9). What looks like delay to us may actually be mercy from God. His patience is not weakness. His silence is not absence. His timing is not carelessness.

Abraham waited for the son God promised. Joseph spent years in places he never expected to be before God brought His purpose to pass. David was anointed king long before he wore the crown. Again and again, the Bible shows us that God often works through seasons of waiting.

Isaiah 40:31 says, “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength.” Waiting is not wasted time when we are waiting on God. He may be preparing the answer, preparing us for the answer, or accomplishing something we cannot yet see.

We live in a world that wants everything immediately. God often teaches us to trust Him one day at a time. His promise remains true even when our circumstances seem to contradict it. “He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).

So keep praying. Keep believing. Keep walking. Do not let the length of the wait convince you that God has forgotten you. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise.

What He has spoken, He is able to accomplish. What He has begun, He is able to finish. Philippians 1:6 reminds us that “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Rest your weary heart in that truth. God has not lost your address. He has not misplaced your name. He has not forgotten His promise.

Father, help us trust You when the answer seems delayed. Give us patience when we are weary, faith when we are uncertain, and strength when the waiting becomes difficult. Remind us that Your timing is perfect and Your promises are sure. Help us continue walking faithfully until Your purpose is accomplished. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
