#194 THE FUN NEVER STOPS 9-26-26
Walking with Christ is the most “alive“ thing you can do. Following Jesus is not a one-time decision followed by years of simply going through the motions. It is a life of discovery. Every morning brings another opportunity to trust Him, serve Him, learn something from His Word, encourage somebody, overcome something, or see what God will do next. The Christian life never becomes boring because Jesus never becomes old.
The psalmist said, “This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24). Notice that he did not say yesterday. He said, “This is the day.” God keeps giving us another day in which to walk with Him.
There are seasons when the road is difficult. There are disappointments, unanswered questions, unexpected turns, and moments when we wonder what God is doing. Yet even then, there is something exciting about knowing that our lives are in His hands. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way” (Psalm 37:23). Every step ahead of us is ordained and controlled by the one who loves us more than anyone.
THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO LEARN
Following Christ means we never reach the place where we have learned everything. Paul, after decades of serving Jesus, could still say, “That I may know Him” (Philippians 3:10). Think about that. Paul already knew Christ, loved Christ, preached Christ, suffered for Christ, and had given his life to Christ. Yet he still wanted to know Him more.
The Bible keeps opening new windows. Familiar passages suddenly speak to us in a fresh way. A verse we have read a hundred times can meet us differently because we are different. Yesterday we needed one truth. Today we need another.
That is part of the adventure.
THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING TO DO
Jesus did not save us so that we could sit on the sidelines. There are people to love, souls to reach, burdens to carry, prayers to pray, wrongs to make right, and good works to accomplish. You are a part of the Lord’s army. You are not a spectator. You are an active participant, strengthened by God to do things you might have thought impossible until now.
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (Ephesians 2:10).
You never know what a day may bring. A conversation may become an opportunity to share Christ. A stranger may need encouragement. Someone may need a meal. Someone may need forgiveness. Someone may simply need somebody to listen. Everywhere you go the adventure is doing what is right all the time.
And sometimes God will put something in front of us that we never planned for.
That is where faith becomes an adventure.
THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEWHERE TO GO
Jesus said, “Follow Me” (Matthew 4:19). Christianity is movement. We are following Someone. We are going somewhere.
There are always new places to serve, new people to meet, new opportunities to pursue, and new ways to glorify God. We should never become so comfortable with yesterday’s victories that we stop asking what God wants us to do today.
Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
That is an exciting way to live.
We do not have to know everything that is coming. We simply trust the one who does know. As long as we are holding to His hand, everything will work out eventually in our favor.
The Christian life is not a museum where we stand around admiring what God did years ago. It is a journey with Christ. Sometimes we run. Sometimes we walk. Sometimes we crawl. Sometimes we stop long enough to catch our breath. But we keep following.
And the beautiful thing is that the best part is not behind us. The best is always yet to come for the faithful child of God.
Jesus is still Lord. His Word is still alive. His grace is still sufficient. His people are still worth loving. Lost people still need the gospel. Good works still need to be done. Prayers are still being answered. Doors are still opening. And tomorrow has not yet been written.
So keep walking.
Keep learning.
Keep serving.
Keep trusting.
Keep seeking His will.
Because when Jesus is at the center of your life, the fun never stops. There is always another hill to climb, another lesson to learn, another person to love, another opportunity to serve, and another day to discover what it means to walk with the Lord.
And when this earthly adventure finally ends, the greatest adventure of all begins: being with Christ forever.
“Even so, come, Lord Jesus!” (Revelation 22:20).
