Trusting In God
Psalm 20:7 says that while some trust in chariots and horses, the people of God trust in Him alone. “We trust in the name of the Lord our God,” David writes. The name of God carries great authority and power.
Why do we trust in His name? Because His name represents who He is. Saying that we trust in His name is the same as saying that we trust Him. And while your name or my name may have baggage associated with it that is negative, it is not so with the Lord. The name of the Lord represents perfection and holiness.
There is nothing the Lord cannot do. There is nothing He cannot know. There is no enemy He cannot defeat. There is no power that can come against Him and prevail. When we think of God, we need to think of the fact that He is Almighty and what it means to be Almighty. It means that He is undefeated and undefeatable. You can trust in Him completely, fully, and until the end of your journey here on earth. Then He will take us home to Heaven.
Don’t go through life trusting in anything but God. A very powerful verse to keep in mind is Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” Keep your eyes focused on God and His power. Know that He loves you and know that He is with you. And never trust in anything except Him.
