TREATED TO TREASURES
A wealthy collector once invited a poor village boy to spend a day in his magnificent estate. The child expected gold coins, sparkling jewels, and priceless paintings.
Instead, the old man led him into a quiet library.
Shelf after shelf held books worn by years of careful reading. “These,” the collector said, “are my greatest treasures. Gold can be stolen. Knowledge, once planted in the heart, can become wisdom that blesses others.”
The years passed, and the boy became a man. He discovered that the old collector had given him far more than information. He had taught him to know what is true, to grow in character, and to show kindness to everyone he met. Those three treasures changed his life more than riches ever could.
The greatest treasures are not hidden in vaults but found in Christ.
We are called to know Him more deeply through God’s word (Philippians 3:10), to grow into His likeness (Second Peter 3:18), and to show His love through lives of faithful obedience and good works (Matthew 5:16).
Treasures buried in the heart become blessings poured out through the hands. The more we know Christ, the more we grow in grace. The more we grow, the more clearly we show His light to a world searching for lasting riches.
