THE GRANDEUR OF GRACE
Grace is not a reaction in God but a revelation of His eternal heart, flowing from wisdom before the foundation of the world. It is not forced, not reluctant, not afterthought, but purposeful and sovereign in design.
THE PURPOSE OF SELECTING GRACE
As Ephesians the first chapter declares, He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, not because of merit but because of divine intention rooted in love (Ephesians 1:4-5).
This is not the harsh decree of determinism, but the holy freedom of a God who desires to save and calls all to Himself through Christ. The purpose of selecting grace is not to exclude the world from hope, but to reveal that salvation is wholly of God and fully centered in Christ, that no flesh should boast before Him (1 Corinthians 1:29–31).
THE PEOPLE OF SAVING GRACE
The people of saving grace are not a closed circle of privilege, but a living assembly of all who respond to the call of the gospel in faith and repentance.
The grace of God has appeared bringing salvation to all people (Titus 2:11). That means grace is not hidden from the world but revealed to it in Christ Jesus.
The people of grace are those who have heard the word, believed the gospel, and obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine delivered (Romans 6:17). They are not chosen apart from Christ, but chosen in Christ, not saved apart from faith, but through faith working by love.
Grace does not cancel human response; it awakens it.
THE POWER OF SECURING GRACE
The power of securing grace is not the mechanical locking of fate, but the sustaining strength of God to keep every believer who continues in Christ. 1 Peter 1 speaks of an inheritance reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith.
The security is real, but it is relational—abiding in Christ, walking in the light, continuing in the faith grounded and settled. Jude also reminds us to keep ourselves in the love of God while looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
This grace does not force perseverance without choice; it empowers perseverance through daily dependence on the living Christ.
When grace is seen rightly, it humbles pride, strengthens faith, and calls the heart to continual obedience. It is selecting in purpose, saving in revelation, and securing in power—all through Jesus Christ our Lord, who alone is worthy.
_____________
Lord God, we thank You for Your marvelous grace revealed in Jesus Christ. Keep us from pride and from presumption, and teach us to walk humbly before You. Let Your grace awaken faith, sustain obedience, and keep our hearts anchored in Christ alone. May we live as people shaped by Your mercy, and may our lives bring glory to Your name. In Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
