THE FOOL ON THE HILL AND THE REDEEMER
There is an old picture of a person standing alone on a hill, watching the world below while others misunderstand him and fail to see what he sees. The world often calls the humble, the faithful, and the godly foolish, but God reminds us that “the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.” (1 Corinthians 1:25)
The greatest example of this was Jesus Christ, who was rejected by many while accomplishing the greatest work in human history. He was despised and rejected by men, yet He carried our sorrows and bore our sins upon Himself. (Isaiah 53:3-5) The leaders of His day mocked Him, but the cross they thought was defeat became the place where redemption was purchased. (1 Corinthians 1:18)
The Gospel points our hearts toward the hope found in Christ, the One who came to seek and save the lost. Jesus did not come because humanity was worthy; He came because humanity needed mercy. (Luke 19:10) He gave His life as a ransom for many, offering forgiveness to all who would come to Him. (Mark 10:45)
The world may not understand the ways of God. People often chase wealth, fame, and power, but the Lord calls us to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. (Matthew 6:33) Those who follow Christ may sometimes appear foolish in the eyes of the world, but they possess a wisdom that comes from above. (James 3:17)
The hill where Jesus stood was not a place of loneliness but a place of victory. At Calvary, the Redeemer stretched out His hands and offered salvation to a fallen world. (John 3:16) Through His blood we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace. (Ephesians 1:7)
Perhaps you have felt like the person standing alone on the hill—misunderstood, forgotten, or overlooked. Remember that God sees what others cannot see, and He values what the world often ignores. (1 Samuel 16:7) The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart and saves those who have a contrite spirit. (Psalm 34:18)
The greatest wisdom is not found in the applause of people but in knowing Christ. Paul counted everything as loss compared to the excellence of knowing Jesus Christ his Lord. (Philippians 3:8) The One the world rejected is the Redeemer who offers eternal life to everyone who believes. (John 1:11-12).

Prayer
Heavenly Father, help us not to measure life by the standards of this world but by the truth of Your Word. Thank You for sending Jesus, our Redeemer, who loved us, saved us, and gave Himself for us. May we gladly follow Him even when others do not understand, knowing that the wisdom of God is greater than the wisdom of men. Amen.
