THE CREATION IS A SIGNPOST, NOT THE DESTINATION

God created the heavens and the earth to display His glory, not to replace Him. The stars, mountains, oceans, and forests are all witnesses pointing beyond themselves to their Creator. “The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament shows His handiwork” (Psalm 19:1). Creation was never meant to be our final fascination. It was meant to awaken our hearts to worship the One who made it.

Sinful humanity often stops at the gift and forgets the Giver. We admire the beauty of the sunset but ignore the God who painted it. We stand in awe of the vast universe but give little thought to the One who spoke it into existence.

As Paul wrote, “Professing to be wise, they became fools and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image” (Romans 1:22–23). Later he says they “worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator” (Romans 1:25).

Every flower should remind us of His wisdom. Every sunrise should speak of His faithfulness. Every star should proclaim His power. Creation is a sermon without words, calling us to lift our eyes above what has been made and adore the eternal God who made it all.

Do not stop at the masterpiece. Worship the Master. Do not become captivated by the creation while neglecting the Creator. The greatest wonder is not the universe. The greatest wonder is the God who made it and, through Jesus Christ, invites us to know Him.
