LIVING ON LOVE
Love is the life of the Christian because “God is love” (1 John 4:8). Whoever “abides in love abides in God, and God in him” (1 John 4:16). Therefore, “walk in love, as Christ also has loved us” (Ephesians 5:2), for “the love of Christ compels us” (2 Corinthians 5:14).
Love does not measure what it can receive. It “seeks not its own” (1 Corinthians 13:5) and “does no harm to a neighbor” (Romans 13:10). The heart ruled by love has learned that “it is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
The Lord loved us “while we were still sinners” (Romans 5:8). Since “He first loved us” (1 John 4:19), let us “love one another” (1 John 4:7), for “love covers a multitude of sins” (1 Peter 4:8). Nothing adorns the gospel more beautifully than a loving heart.
Love also gives courage. “Perfect love casts out fear” (1 John 4:18), and “the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding” (Philippians 4:7) keeps the heart that trusts Him. Where love reigns, bitterness cannot rule, because “the fruit of the Spirit is love” (Galatians 5:22).
Live on love today. “Above all these things put on love” (Colossians 3:14), and “let all that you do be done with love” (1 Corinthians 16:14). Then others will know that you belong to Christ, because “by this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:35).

Father, fill our hearts with the love You have shown us in Christ. Teach us to walk in love, speak in love, and serve in love, that Your name may be honored in all we do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
