I BELIEVE IN YOU
The gospel songs of Bob Dylan are incredible. One of them is I Believe in You, about remaining faithful despite misunderstanding and opposition. Our faith is not ultimately placed in an idea, a church, or even our own goodness. Biblical faith is centered on one Person—Jesus Christ. “For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day” (2 Timothy 1:12). The greatest decision anyone will ever make is to believe in Christ.
THE PERSON WE BELIEVE
The Bible never calls us merely to believe something; it calls us to believe Someone. Jesus is the Son of God, the promised Messiah, and the Savior of the world. He lived a sinless life, fulfilled the Law perfectly, died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-4).
Jesus did not claim to be one way among many. He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6). To believe in Christ is to trust Him completely—to rely upon His finished work rather than our own efforts.
Our faith is only as strong as its object. Because Jesus is the risen Lord, our faith rests on an unshakable foundation.
THE RESPONSE WE GIVE
Believing in Christ is more than agreeing with facts. It is responding to Him with obedient faith. On the Day of Pentecost, when the people realized their guilt before God, they asked, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Peter answered, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins” (Acts 2:37-38).
Salvation is entirely by God’s grace, received through a faith that trusts and obeys Him.
THE LIFE WE LIVE
Faith does not end when we trust the gospel. It begins a lifelong walk with Christ. The same Lord who saves us also strengthens us to live faithfully. “As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him” (Colossians 2:6).
The world may not understand your commitment to Jesus. Some may criticize or reject you for following Him. But Christ is worthy of your trust. He will never leave those who belong to Him, and He has promised eternal life to those who remain faithful (Revelation 2:10).
The question is not merely, “Do you believe that Jesus existed?” The question is, “Have you placed your life in His hands?” One day every knee will bow before Him (Philippians 2:9-11). Those who believe in Him today will rejoice in His presence forever.
If you have never received Christ, today can be the day your life changes forever. Trust Him and walk with Him in faithful obedience, looking forward to the day when faith becomes sight.
