HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME July 5, 2026

Today the Lord has granted me another year of life, and my heart bows before Him with gratitude rather than pride.

Fifty-two years are not a monument to my strength but a testimony to His patience, mercy, and unfailing love. Every breath has been borrowed from His gracious hand.

He has carried me through seasons of joy and valleys of sorrow, through victories that strengthened my faith and trials that taught me to cling more closely to Christ.

“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalms 118:24). If I have learned anything through these years, it is that Jesus Christ is a faithful Savior who never forsakes those who trust in Him.

I’m really to the point in life where all I care about is that Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. I borrowed those words from Paul, but it’s really how I feel.

The things that used to matter, simply don’t matter anymore. I am a better person now than I have ever been in my life, but that is changing daily. I will get even better for him. By his strength, I will continue to grow.

Evil men grow worse and worse (2 Timothy 3:13), but God’s people, by His grace, grow better and better as they are transformed into the image of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18; 2 Peter 3:18; Proverbs 4:18).

I offer these words as encouragement for you to do the same. I don’t have a corner on a personal relationship with Jesus. It’s your calling as well as mine. He loves you. Keep Him at the center.

A birthday is not merely a celebration of the past but a summons to redeem the days that remain. My years are numbered by the wisdom of God, and each one is a precious stewardship entrusted to me.

Therefore I desire to seek first His kingdom, to love His word, to serve His people, and to proclaim the gospel while He gives me strength. “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom” (Psalms 90:12).

Whatever opportunities lie before me, may they be spent not in pursuing my own glory but in making much of the Lord Jesus Christ, whose grace has sustained me from my youth until this very hour.

As I begin this new year of life, I ask for a heart that is humble, obedient, and full of holy affection for my Redeemer.

May my remaining years bear more fruit than those already passed. Let my lips speak often of Christ, my hands serve others with compassion, and my life reflect the beauty of His holiness.

One day birthdays will give way to eternity, and faith will become sight.

Until then, I will rejoice that my name is written in heaven and that my hope rests securely in the risen Lord.

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. Great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23).
