#67 CONNECTED TO GOD 9-1-26

Prayer connects us to God. Peace settles us in God. Power enables us to live for God. These three belong together in the life of every believer. When we pray, we bring our burdens to the One who can carry them. When we trust Him, His peace guards our hearts and minds. When we walk in His strength, His power enables us to do what we could never accomplish in our own strength.

PRAYER is our communication with God. We do not pray because God is unaware of our needs. We pray because He invites us to bring everything to Him. “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God” (Philippians 4:6). Prayer is not simply asking God for things. It is drawing near to God Himself.

PEACE is what God gives us when we trust Him with what we have placed in His hands. The next verse says, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). The circumstances may not change immediately, but something changes within us. We discover that God is greater than our fears, stronger than our troubles, and faithful in every circumstance.

POWER is God’s strength working through surrendered people. Jesus told His disciples that they would receive power when the Holy Spirit came upon them (Acts 1:8). Paul reminded the Ephesians that God’s power is at work in those who believe (Ephesians 3:20). We were never meant to live the Christian life by human strength alone. We pray in dependence, we rest in His peace, and we serve in His power.

Prayer takes our burdens to God. Peace leaves them with God. Power enables us to walk forward with God.

Lord, teach us to pray when we are burdened, to trust You when we are troubled, and to depend upon Your power when we are weak. Give us the peace that only Christ can provide and the strength to live faithfully for Your glory. May our prayers draw us closer to You, Your peace steady us, and Your power work through us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
