#333 CHRIST IN OUR HEARTS 10-24-26
Christianity is not just the name we wear, a building we attend, or a set of religious activities we perform. It is a life transformed by the presence of Jesus Christ. Paul expressed this beautiful truth when he wrote, “Christ lives in me” (Galatians 2:20). The Christian life is not about trying harder to become a better person. It is about allowing the character, teaching, and love of Jesus to shape everything we are. When Christ occupies our hearts, our priorities change, our relationships change, and our understanding of life changes.
HIS PRESENCE IS REAL
Paul prayed that Christ might dwell in the hearts of believers through faith (Ephesians 3:17). This is not merely a religious feeling that comes and goes with our circumstances. Christ’s presence is a living reality that influences our thoughts, decisions, and conduct. We may experience loneliness, disappointment, and uncertainty, but we are never beyond the reach of His care.
Jesus promised His disciples, “I am with you always, even to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20). His presence does not mean that every problem disappears or every prayer receives the answer we expect. It means that we can face life’s difficulties with confidence in the One who loves us and gave Himself for us. When fear rises, we can remember His faithfulness. When temptation comes, we can remember whose we are. When sorrow visits, we can find comfort in His promises. Christ is not simply a figure of history. He is our living Lord, and His presence gives meaning to our daily walk.
HIS PURPOSE IS REVEALED
When Christ enters our hearts, He begins to redirect our lives toward God’s purposes. We no longer measure success merely by possessions, popularity, or personal achievement. We begin asking how we can love more deeply, serve more faithfully, and reflect the character of our Savior.
Paul wrote that God created us in Christ Jesus for good works (Ephesians 2:10). Our lives are not accidents without meaning. We have opportunities to encourage the discouraged, forgive those who hurt us, serve those in need, and share the good news of Jesus. Christ’s purpose becomes visible through ordinary people who choose extraordinary faithfulness in ordinary circumstances.
The heart filled with Christ does not ask only, “What can I get out of life?” It also asks, “How can my life bless someone else?” This is the difference between merely existing and living with spiritual purpose.
HIS PROMISE IS RELIABLE
Human promises sometimes fail. Circumstances change, people disappoint us, and our own strength proves insufficient. But the promises of God rest upon His unchanging character. Hebrews 10:23 encourages us to hold firmly to our hope because “He who promised is faithful.”
Christ promises rest to the weary (Matthew 11:28), forgiveness to the repentant, and eternal life to those who believe in Him (John 3:16). These promises do not guarantee a trouble-free journey, but they provide an unshakable foundation for the journey ahead.
When Christ lives in our hearts, His presence steadies us, His purpose directs us, and His promises sustain us. Let us give Him more than occasional attention. Let us give Him the center of our lives.
______________
Heavenly Father, let Christ dwell richly in our hearts. Make His presence our comfort, His purpose our direction, and His promises our confidence. Help us live each day in a way that reflects His love and brings glory to His name. Amen.
