#305 THE STAR IN OUR EYES 10-19-26

A person whose eyes sparkle with hope is a beautiful thing in this world. We can often see joy before we hear it expressed. We can recognize peace in a troubled world and notice when someone carries a light that circumstances cannot easily extinguish. What puts that star in our eyes? For the Christian, it is the presence of Christ, the hope of His promises, and the joy of walking with God.

THE STAR OF HIS PRESENCE

When Moses came down from Mount Sinai after speaking with God, the skin of his face shone (Exodus 34:29). Time spent in the presence of God has a way of changing us. As we fill our hearts with His Word and turn our minds toward His goodness, our lives begin to reflect His character. We may not have a shining face like Moses, but others should see something different in the way we live.

THE STAR OF HIS PROMISES

The world gives us plenty of reasons to become discouraged, but God’s promises give us reasons to hope. Psalm 119:105 declares, “Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path” (NKJV). When we trust the Lord, we do not have to know everything about tomorrow. We know the One who holds tomorrow in His hands. That confidence can put a sparkle in our eyes even when the road ahead is uncertain.

THE STAR OF HIS PEACE

Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). His peace does not depend upon perfect circumstances. It rests upon His faithful presence. The Christian can experience sorrow without surrendering hope and face difficulties without losing confidence in God.

Think of the difference between someone who has lost all hope and someone who knows they are loved. Often, the difference can be seen in the eyes.

Let Christ be the light within you. Spend time with Him, trust His promises, and rest in His peace. The world has enough darkness already. Let the love of Jesus put a star in your eyes and a light in your life.
