#295 CHRIST THE WARRIOR 10-16-26

The world has seen many warriors, but none can compare with Jesus Christ. History remembers men who conquered kingdoms, defeated armies, and established empires. Yet their victories were temporary, their kingdoms eventually crumbled, and their names slowly faded from the memories of men. Christ came to wage a greater war, win a greater victory, and establish a kingdom that cannot be shaken.

Revelation 19:11 declares, “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.” Here we see Christ not merely as the suffering Lamb but as the victorious Warrior, the righteous King who confronts evil and triumphs over every enemy of God.

His Courage Was Unmatched

Jesus did not retreat from the battle against sin. He confronted religious hypocrisy, exposed the darkness of the human heart, and boldly proclaimed the truth even when it brought Him into conflict with powerful men. He entered Jerusalem knowing the cross awaited Him. He could have summoned legions of angels, yet He willingly submitted Himself to suffering for our salvation.

Isaiah 53:7 says, “He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth.” His silence before His accusers was not cowardice. It was the courage of a Savior determined to finish His mission. At Calvary, Christ faced the full cost of redemption and did not turn back.

His Conquest Was Unparalleled

The greatest victory of Christ was accomplished through what appeared to be His greatest defeat. His enemies nailed Him to a cross, sealed His tomb, and believed their problem had been solved. But on the third day, the grave surrendered its prisoner!

Hebrews 2:14 teaches that through death Jesus would “destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil.” The cross was not an interruption of Christ's mission. It was central to it. Through His death and resurrection, He broke the power of death and opened the way to eternal life.

Earthly warriors conquer by taking the lives of their enemies. Christ conquers by giving His own life to save His enemies. What a Warrior! What a victory! What a Savior!

His Kingdom Will Prevail

Every earthly empire eventually reaches its sunset. Generals retire, monuments crumble, and mighty rulers return to the dust. But the reign of Jesus Christ will never end.

Paul declares in 1 Corinthians 15:25, “For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.” Christ is not struggling to discover whether He will ultimately triumph. His resurrection has already demonstrated His victory, and His purposes will not fail.

Therefore, Christian, do not surrender to discouragement. The battle against temptation may be difficult, the opposition may be fierce, and the road of discipleship may be costly. But our confidence rests not in our own strength, but in the strength of our risen Lord.

Let us follow Christ with courage, stand for truth with conviction, and serve others with sacrificial love. The Warrior who conquered death is also the Shepherd who carries His sheep.

The hands that were pierced for our redemption belong to the King who reigns forever. And the One who wore a crown of thorns will never surrender His throne.

Christ is the conquering Warrior, the risen Redeemer, and the everlasting King.
