#283 THE LIGHT OF LIFE 10-14-26
Darkness has a way of revealing how desperately we need light. A single candle can change the atmosphere of a dark room, but the light of Jesus Christ can change the destiny of a human soul.
Jesus declared, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life” (John 8:12). He did not merely come to tell us about the light. He came as the Light Himself. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The darkness of this world could not overcome Him (John 1:4-5).
THE LIGHT THAT REVEALS
Light exposes what darkness conceals. When Christ enters a life, He reveals our sin, our pride, and our desperate need for mercy. The Word of God searches the heart, discerning the thoughts and intentions within us (Hebrews 4:12). This revelation is not intended to drive us away from God but to lead us toward the Savior who forgives and makes us clean.
THE LIGHT THAT REDEEMS
Jesus did not merely expose our darkness but He came to deliver us from it. Through His death and resurrection, He brings forgiveness, reconciliation, and eternal life. God “has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love” (Colossians 1:13). The cross is where our darkness meets the redeeming love of God.
THE LIGHT THAT RADIATES
Those who follow Christ are called to reflect His character before a watching world. Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). We cannot manufacture divine light through human goodness. We shine because we belong to the One who is light.
The world does not need another imitation of Christ. It needs Christians who walk closely with Him, speak His truth, love their neighbors, and display His holiness.
Jesus remains the Light of Life. Follow Him when the path is uncertain, trust Him when shadows gather, and let His light shine through you until faith becomes sight and you stand forever in His glorious presence.
