#106 GRACE TO HELP 9-8-26
“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.” (Hebrews 4:15)
Because Jesus understands our weakness, we can come boldly to His throne and receive grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16). Grace is not merely God’s favor toward us. Grace is God’s gift, God’s guidance, and God’s goal for our lives.
The gift of grace is what God freely gives us through Jesus Christ. We do not earn it. We do not deserve it. We receive it because He is gracious.
The guidance of grace teaches us how to live. Grace does not give us permission to wander away from God. It teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age (Titus 2:11-12).
The goal of grace is to bring us safely home to God. Grace meets us where we are, but it does not leave us where it found us. It strengthens us, changes us, and leads us toward Christlikeness.
When temptation comes, there is grace. When weakness comes, there is grace. When sorrow comes, there is grace. When we do not know what to do, there is grace. There is grace to help.
